What is Traditional Chinese Medicine?
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been used in China and other parts of the world for over 2500 years with much success in areas of Women’s Health and Infertility.

It is effective in treating gynecological, hormonal endocrine, reproductive, neurological, immunological, gastrointestinal, urological systems and more. Additionally, TCM is not only a complimentary treatment to conventional western medicine, but can also be used by itself to treat dysfunction.

Traditional Chinese Medicine
(TCM) includes:

Acupuncture
Chinese Herbology
Moxabustion
(heat therapy)
Therapeutic Massage and pressure points
( Shiatsu, Tuina, etc…)
Other ancient Chinese therapies

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the most common modality of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Acupuncture works in many ways, one is the ability of specific points in the body to affect changes in related organ systems, by way of the meridians. Meridians are channels that distribute Qi (vital energy) throughout the body. In TCM when there is an imbalance of Qi in a particular channel, the organ and it’s related functions become imbalanced and unable to perform at its best, creating possible dysfunction.

By using specific points to stimulate the body’s own innate healing response, these organs and channels can recover and return to health.

Does Acupuncture Hurt?

Most patients do not find Acupuncture needles to be uncomfortable. We use very light needling techniques with no sensation at all. These needles are hairthin and disposable. Feelings of tingling and light sensations are very common.

In some cases acupuncture can be done with magnets and ion cords, specifically in cases of children or indicated gynecological disorders.

Chinese Herbology

Chinese Herbology is an integral part of TCM, using empirical formulas that consist of combinations of herbs, each adding to the synergistic effect of the other. Herbology assists the body in changing the functioning of organ system relationships, therefore healing the body and establishing healthier ways of function.

Chinese Herbology is also used to support the changes that Acupuncture produces. Herbology can help in many disorders including PMS, Endometriosis, Hormonal imbalances and other gynecological and infertility disorders.
